Yes, You Can Eat Out This Summer and Still Hit Your Goals 🔥

Hey Foodie Fam,

Summer is in full swing, and the sunshine, sweet drinks, and social gatherings seem endless. While summer is all about enjoying life, I know how tricky it can feel to stay on track when your calendar is packed with dinners, BBQs, and weekend brunch.

But here’s the good news: You don’t have to choose between enjoying yourself and staying committed to your health goals.

As someone who’s lost 44 lbs (and counting!), following a flavorful plant-based lifestyle, I’m here to tell you: with a little game plan, you can absolutely do both.

☀️ My Pro Tips for Eating Out Without Derailing Your Progress:

  1. Scan the menu ahead of time. Deciding before you arrive helps you avoid impulsive choices when you’re hungry and everyone else is ordering fries.
  2. Look for veggie-loaded, grilled, or whole-food options. Swap creamy sauces for vinaigrettes and choose meals that are high in fiber and protein to keep you full and satisfied.
  3. Don’t be afraid to customize. Restaurants are usually happy to adjust a dish—ask for dressing on the side, sub a salad for fries, or add extra veggies.
  4. Practice the “plate method.” Fill half your plate with veggies, a quarter with protein (like beans, tofu, or lentils), and the rest with carbs. Balance is key.
  5. Don’t skip meals to “save room.” This backfires every time. Eat as you normally would throughout the day, so you arrive at your meal grounded, not ravenous.
  6. Savor the moment (and the food). Eat mindfully, drink water between bites, and remember; this journey is about building a lifestyle, not avoiding life.
