Self-Love Starts Before the World Wakes Up ✨

Hey Foodie Fam,

It is the month of love, and we hear a lot about self-love these days: bubble baths, spa days, and treating yourself (which I fully support). Today I want to talk about the type of self-love that changes your life; that’s built in the quiet, ordinary moments… especially in the morning.

Before the emails, before the responsibilities, before everyone else needs a piece of you, there’s you. And how you start your day can shape how you show up for everything else.

For me, self-love looks like a morning routine that centers me before the world gets loud.

Every morning, I start with 30 minutes of stretching. Not to burn calories. Not to “fix” my body. But to wake it up with gratitude. It’s my way of saying, “thank you body, let’s take care of you today.”

Then I spend time in my devotional. This part centers my heart and my mind. It reminds me that my worth isn’t tied to my productivity, my weight, or my to-do list. It helps me move through the day with more peace and less pressure.

Throughout the routine: water. Simple, but powerful. After hours of sleep, your body is craving hydration. Drinking water first thing helps me feel more energized, less sluggish, and ready to actually move.

And then comes my 30 minutes of strength training. This is where I build physical strength, yes, but also mental strength. Showing up for myself consistently, even when I don’t feel like it, has been one of the biggest confidence boosters in my journey. I’m not just changing my body… I’m proving to myself that I can commit to me.

This whole routine isn’t about perfection. Some days it flows beautifully. Other days it’s messy, shorter, or happens later than planned. But the intention is always the same:

Start the day by pouring into myself first.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you’re constantly last on your own list, I want to gently encourage you to create a small morning routine of your own. It doesn’t have to be an hour. Start with 10 minutes. Stretch. Pray or reflect. Drink water. Take a short walk. Do something that tells your mind and body, I matter too.

Because self-love isn’t just something you feel. It’s something you practice.
