Grow What You're Willing to Learn

Hey Foodie Fam,

A few months ago, I wrote to you all about wanting to reconnect with hobbies, creativity, and the parts of us that often get pushed aside once adulthood starts feeling like one long to-do list. One of the hobbies I decided to pick up this year was vegetable gardening. And let me tell you… I didn’t know the first thing about it.

So instead of pretending I knew what I was doing, I decided to seek out wisdom from people who did. I volunteered at a local vegetable farm. And honestly, it reminded me how important it is to stay teachable.

While there, I learned how to weed properly, plant kale and swiss chard, sow tiny carrot seeds, understand plant spacing, and even how deep to dig holes before putting plants into the ground. Things that seemed so small at first suddenly became the difference between a plant thriving… or struggling.

And somewhere between dirt under my nails and dodging rain drops, I realized something: growth in life works the same way.

A lot of us want the garden without learning the process. We want confidence without being beginners first. We want results without asking questions. But wisdom usually comes from being willing to admit, “I don’t know yet.”

There’s so much power in seeking knowledge instead of pretending we already have it all figured out. Whether it’s cooking, health, relationships, finances, faith, or even planting vegetables in your backyard, growth requires curiosity.

So, this month, I want to encourage you to seek out wisdom wherever you can find it. Take the class. Ask the questions. Read the book. Learn the skill. Start the hobby. Be willing to be a beginner.

You never know what could grow from it. 🌱

Until next time, remember healthy doesn't mean boring.

P.S. I’m SO excited to officially share that my very first live virtual cooking class is happening at the end of this June! 🎉

We’re kicking things off with my new monthly experience, Supper Club: Prep, Plate, & Yap. A fun, relaxed meal prep class where we cook together, laugh, learn new kitchen skills, and prepare a flavorful meal for the week ahead.

Think: less “perfect meal prep set-up,” more “cook and yap with your foodie fam.” 💚

More details (including June’s menu vote!) are coming soon, but I wanted you all to be the first to know.
