A Gentle Start to the New Year ❄️

Hey Foodie Fam,

Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were full of good food, warm moments, and that you’ve been staying cozy during these cold winter days.

With the start of a new year often comes a lot of noise. New Year resolutions. Big goals. Pressure to “lock in” and change everything overnight. And honestly? That can feel exhausting.

So today, I want to invite you into a different conversation, one about rest.

Winter is naturally a slower season. The days are shorter, our bodies crave warmth and comfort, and energy can feel a little lower than usual. This is a season meant for pulling back, restoring, and giving yourself permission to pause.

Rest doesn’t mean giving up on your goals. It means creating space so you can actually sustain them.

Whether that looks like:

  • Prioritizing sleep (like me)
  • Saying no more often
  • Choosing nourishing, comforting meals
  • Or simply not forcing yourself to “do the most”

As someone who’s learned (sometimes the hard way) that burnout doesn’t serve anyone, I want you to know this: you don’t need to rush into this year to make it meaningful. Progress can be gentle. Healing can be slow. Consistency can look like taking care of yourself first.

So, as we ease into this new year together, let’s focus less on perfection and more on listening to our bodies, honoring where we are, and building habits that feel supportive.

Until next time, remember healthy doesn’t mean boring.
